Google Unveils Groundbreaking AI System, Gemini
Leading technology firm, Google, has introduced its state-of-the-art artificial intelligence system known as Gemini. This advanced AI system is designed to revolutionize language processing and understanding, surpassing existing AI models such as ChatGPT.
Unmatched Capabilities of Gemini
Offered in three different sizes - Gemini Ultra, Gemini Pro, and Gemini Nano$1.08 -0.96% - Google's Gemini stands out as the company's most evolved AI model to date. Rigorous testing has revealed that Gemini Ultra surpasses typical performance on 30 out of 32 scholarly AI benchmarks. Its capacities extend to language, image, video, audio, and mathematical tasks.
Scoring an impressive 90% on a test of a diverse range of abilities, including math, science, and history, Gemini Ultra is the initial model to exceed human experts on the large-scale multitask assessment. Google implies that this achievement is indicative of expert-level knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
Gemini Integration Across Products
The 1.0 version of Gemini is being launched across a variety of products and platforms. A refined version of Gemini Pro will be incorporated into Bard to enhance reasoning, planning, and understanding. This upgrade is expected to be accessible in English across over 170 countries. There are also plans for expansion into other languages and modalities in the near future.
In addition, Gemini will be included in Google's Pixel devices. The Pixel 8 Pro will be the premier smartphone engineered to run Gemini Nano. It brings new features such as Summarize in the Recorder app and Smart Reply in Gboard, and will initially launch with WhatsApp, with plans to expand to more messaging apps next year.
Future Plans for Gemini
In the forthcoming months, Google aims to incorporate Gemini into a wider range of products and services, including Search, Ads, Chrome, and Duet AI, in a bid to compete with ChatGPT. Preliminary use of Gemini in Search has already shown a 40% reduction in latency in English in the U.S., along with improvements in quality.
Accessing Gemini
Starting from December 13, developers and enterprise customers will have access to Gemini Pro via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio. Android developers will also have the opportunity to leverage Gemini Nano through AICore, a new system capability in Android 14. This will initiate with Pixel 8 Pro devices.
As Gemini Ultra undergoes comprehensive trust and safety checks, it will be available to selected customers, developers, partners, and safety experts for early experimentation and feedback.
