Emmer Accuses the SEC of Siding with Wall Street Over Main Street
Emmer has been a vocal critic of Gensler and the SEC's stance on the future of finance, particularly concerning cryptocurrencies. The Congressman has labeled Gensler's leadership as ineffective and incompetent. In a recent statement, Emmer rebuked the SEC, claiming, Gensler's SEC sides with Wall Street, not Main Street.
Emmer's SEC Regulation Bill
Just last month, Emmer witnessed his SEC regulation bill gain approval in the House. This legislation pushes for the dismissal of Gensler and advocates for more stringent regulations on the SEC's enforcement against the digital asset industry.
Congressman Davidson Echoes Emmer's Sentiments
This week, Congressman Warren Davidson also expressed his desire to see Gensler removed from his position. He criticized the SEC, calling it corrupt and suggesting that 2024 would be a suitable time for Gensler's dismissal. Like Emmer, Davidson and other like-minded lawmakers believe the SEC has shown partiality in its rulings on cryptocurrencies. This includes stalling applications for Spot Bitcoin$42,260 -0.64% ETFs and the overall regulation of cryptocurrencies.
Tensions Rising Amidst SEC Stabilization Act
As of yet, Gary Gensler has not commented on the latest developments regarding the SEC Stabilization Act. It remains uncertain how the bill proposed by Congressmen Emmer and Davidson to fire Gensler will progress.
