An Interview with Artist P1A

We were fortunate to engage with P1A in a conversation about her artistic journey and the reason behind her inclination towards creation of NFTs.

Artist's Origin and the Fascination for NFTs

Her artistic aspirations date back to her teenage years, and she was always keen to contribute to the balance between the givers and the takers, the producers and the consumers. The motivating spirit of blockchain technology and it's associated crypto world inspired her to continuously evolve her skills. The first NFT she minted was in the summer of '21. She perceives NFTs and crypto art as innovative tools to utilize digital assets and appreciates the community-based nature of this new wave of creation.

Artistic Perspective for the Most Influential Image

P1A expressed immense pride to be a part of this prestigious event and for being selected to create an image for the Most Influential. Her primary approach while designing Refik Anadol's Study was to reflect upon his profound journey. She attempted to depict the transition from an idea to reality, which is parallel to Refik's method of collating data.

Highlighting Refik Anadol's Profile and Personality

The emphasis on Refik's profile was on his ability to create experimental and thought-provoking experiences through his data installations. P1A, being attracted to the amalgamation of art and technology, found a connection with Refik's exploration of creative boundaries and contemporary subjects. She drew inspiration from his dynamic works, such as Unsupervised, and adapted her creation to a similar linguistic approach.

Most Influential NFT Artists of the Present

When it comes to influential NFT artists, Refilk, Beeple, and XCopy are dominant names. However, P1A draws significant inspiration from Dave Krugman, who successfully demonstrates the beauty of shared growth and development in the artist community.

Most Disruptive NFT Project in History

According to P1A, Crypto Punks, created by Matt Hall and John Watkinson, is the most disruptive NFT project to date. Launched in 2017 on the Ethereum$2,315 -2.42% blockchain, it is considered one of the earliest NFT projects. It has played a considerable role in amplifying the idea of digital ownership and scarcity in the NFT space.

Describing Her Artistic Style

P1A summarized her artistic style in three words: balance, birth, and red.

Perspective on the Future of NFT Art

P1A opines that despite the fluctuations in the NFT market over the last 18 months, the future of NFT art appears promising. She believes the emergence of NFTs and their subsequent popularity has drawn significant attention to the world of digital art. The recent market downturn has only validated the age-old rule of survival of the fittest. P1A believes that those dedicated to building the digital art discipline have nothing to worry about in the future.
