EFDOT Creates Special NFT Artwork for Friend.tech Co-founder, Racer

Friend.tech Co-founder, Racer, has been represented in a unique artwork by EFDOT as part of an exclusive NFT series. The NFT, which can be viewed and bid on here, will be auctioned on Monday the 4th of December from 12 pm ET, and will conclude 24 hours after the first bid is placed.

Insights from EFDOT on Art and NFT's

From a young age, EFDOT felt a deep connection with creativity, finding solace in the process of creating art. This passion fuelled by a culture of skateboarding and a rebellious nature, led to a journey that allowed the artist to connect with others and explore their identity in ways they had never imagined. Inspired by their artistic grandmother, EFDOT has cultivated their art as a way of excavating deeper elements of their soul, exploring various mediums from photography to drawing.

In 2020, EFDOT began their exploration of the blockchain and the emerging trend towards decentralization. The artist found that the blockchain provided a more permanent platform to self-publish work, as opposed to mere social media posts and website uploads. The artist minted their inaugural NFT in the summer of 2021, receiving considerable support. NFTs presented an opportunity to interact with a global audience without traditional gatekeepers. Given the limited public information available about Racer, EFDOT had to rely on imagination. The artwork's primary narrative is that Racer is innovative and agile, akin to a literal racer. A subtle reference to the manga comic/cartoon Speed Racer is incorporated to represent this.
