Understanding Tokenization
Tokenization refers to the representation of assets, whether tangible or digital, in the form of a token on the blockchain. Larry Fink is optimistic about the potential of tokenization, suggesting that it might be a solution to money laundering and other corrupt practices.
Fink's View on Cryptocurrency
In the same interview, Fink clarified his stance on cryptocurrency. He does not see it as a currency but as a separate asset class. He specifically referred to bitcoin as an asset class that shields against the uncertainty of geopolitical risk. He likened this quality to the role gold has played over millennia. He further commented, Unlike gold, we're almost at the ceiling of the amount of bitcoin that can be created.
