Howard Lutnick

Howard Lutnick has been one of the most recognizable figures on Wall Street for decades, steering Cantor Fitzgerald as its chairman and chief executive and guiding the firm’s growth into a broader financial-services platform. After finishing college, Lutnick joined Cantor Fitzgerald as a bond broker and quickly rose through the ranks, gaining a reputation for aggressive growth and strategic expansion. By 1990, he had ascended to the presidency and chief executive role, a position he would maintain as the firm evolved and expanded its footprint in the years that followed. When Gerald Cantor’s health declined in 1995, Lutnick took on an even more pivotal leadership role within the organization, becoming deeply involved in the day-to-day management and longer-term strategy of Cantor Fitzgerald.
