Alameda Research was a cryptocurrency trading firm known for quantitative market-making and algorithmic strategies in the years leading up to the collapse of major crypto institutions in 2022. Co-founded in September 2017 by Sam Bankman-Fried and Tara MacAulay, the firm became closely associated with Bankman-Fried’s broader ecosystem, including the cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
