Neighbourhoods is an innovative solution for the decentralised web, aiming to resolve the issues of disconnection and complexity often associated with early-stage distributed web features and functionalities. This project brings to the table a fresh concept of social organisation for the distributed web. It strives to create an ecosystem where users can utilise interoperable and generic tools from its marketplace, and combine these with a designed culture that caters to their community.
Revolutionising Social Interaction on the dWeb
The Neighbourhoods project empowers users to define the boundaries, rules, and culture of their neighbourhoods. Users have the right to set up the entry and exit rules, manage engagement within their community and choose the neighbourhoods with which they want to share data. It provides a greater freedom of movement within the distributed web and brings the concept of peer-validated data to light.
Scaling Organic Growth of Groups
The innovative aspect of Neighbourhoods is its ability to allow groups to scale organically. Activities within the community aren't mediated or monetized by platform owners, thus ensuring a fair and neutral environment for growth. This promotes community engagement and interaction on a scale never before seen in the distributed web.
Introduction of Neighbourhoods Token (NHT)
To further facilitate this community-driven interaction, Neighbourhoods has introduced its own token - the Neighbourhoods Token (NHT). The NHT acts as an access pass to the low-code marketplace that communities can use to build their own micro-networks. It provides an avenue for entry and exit, thereby creating a seamless system that encourages the development of unique and customised micro-networks within the distributed web.
