Partnership Between Spindl and AppsFlyer to Revolutionise Web3 Gaming Marketing
Spindl, a platform specialising in analytics and attribution for Web3 games, has announced a collaboration with AppsFlyer. The latter is a company with years of experience in similar functions within the Web2 environment.
About AppsFlyer and Spindl
Since 2011, AppsFlyer has been providing attribution, which is the process of pinpointing which marketing methods are yielding sales, for mobile gaming. The company has managed to raise $300 million in venture capital over the years for this function.
Spindl was established two years ago with the objective to create a Web3-native version of this type of platform. The aim is for blockchain-based games to use it as a foundation for their strategy.
The Challenges
However, creating such a platform has proven to be a tough task due to most Web3 games being a blend of on-chain and off-chain. This is where Spindl requires the functionality that AppsFlyer offers.
Integration for Better Insights
The two companies intend to integrate their data sets. The goal is to enable developers to trace user journeys that span both Web2 and Web3 events. Examples of these events include app installs and clicks (Web2) and NFT mints (Web3), as pointed out in a blog post shared earlier this week.

Web2 is the current version of the internet that revolves around social media and mobile apps, while Web3 is the forthcoming version. The focus of Web3 will be on decentralization and it will be built on blockchain technology.
Antonio GarcÃa MartÃnez, founder of Spindl, views this partnership as a sign of the convergence of Web2 and Web3 gaming. He noted that all Web3 gaming dashboards lack data regarding on-chain revenue and user actions, thereby offering an incomplete picture. The situation gets worse with the more on-chain a game becomes, leading to inaccuracies in basic metrics such as lifetime value.
