Ripple's XRP$0.620 -1.68% token has carved its niche in being a major player in cross-border remittance, despite the legal ambiguities casting shadows over its price. A pivotal moment came last year when a US district court ruled in favor of Ripple. It declared that XRP retail sales did not contravene securities laws. Nevertheless, with the lawsuit escalating to the high court, investors are eagerly anticipating a verdict.

XRP's Performance and Projected Rally

XRP has shown a steady upward trend, increasing by 0.7% in the daily charts and 4% in weekly charts. Notably, it has grown by over 60% since January last year. Nevertheless, the asset has dipped more than 5% in the past 14 days, and 1.1% since December 2023.

Will XRP Surpass the $10 Mark?

The high court could potentially follow the district court's precedent in the ongoing lawsuit. Should this occur, Ripple's XRP token might soar, potentially surpassing its all-time high of $3.40 achieved in January 2018. A favorable verdict might also trigger an influx of institutional investments into the asset.

The Prospect of a Spot XRP ETF

Recent developments have reignited discussions about a prospective spot XRP ETF (Exchange Traded Fund). On January 10, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) gave its approval to eleven spot Bitcoin$42,260 -0.64% (BTC) ETFs, paving the way for a possible XRP spot ETF. Steve McClurg, CIO at Valkyrie, remarked, "It wouldn't surprise me if we saw Ripple or Ethereum$2,315 -2.42% spot ETFs out there." A spot XRP ETF could potentially attract substantial institutional investment into the asset.

Crypto analyst EGRAG CRYPTO has forecasted a significant surge in XRP's price, potentially reaching $11. The analyst suggested that XRP could replicate its 2017 rally, resulting in a significant price surge.
