Celestia's TIA Token Hits New Record High
The TIA token, native to the Celestia platform reached a historical peak at $12.35 on Tuesday. This occurred as traders eagerly awaited the forthcoming integration of Celestia's data availability layer with Polygon$0.967 -3.65%'s Chain Development Kit (CDK).
Polygon Teases Integration
Polygon's prior hint towards the integration resulted in a significant jump in TIA's value, moving from $10.36 to $12.35. The phrase Get ready, modular community, set the online communities abuzz with anticipation.
TIA Token's Impressive Growth
Over the past six weeks since its debut at $2.31, the TIA token has seen a massive increase, with its value soaring by more than 473%. With only 15% of the total supply of tokens in circulation, the asset's fully diluted value (FDV) is now an impressive $12.1 billion, as per the data from CoinMarketCap.
Speculation on TIA Token Airdrops
There is growing speculation among TIA token holders about potential token airdrops from projects linked to Celestia. This is a strategy similar to the one employed by Solana$104 5.03%'s Jito and Marinade$0.328 -0.63%, which rewarded users with tokens earlier this month.
An airdrop farmer, CC2 Ventures, noted that many high-profile projects are currently under development on Celestia. A significant number of these are expected to airdrop tokens to TIA stakers for mindshare and marketing reasons.
Celestia's On-chain Activity
In spite of TIA's impressive rise, on-chain activity on Celestia remains relatively low-key. Since its launch on October 31, the Celestia blockchain has recorded 872,700 transactions, with 362,000 of these taking place over the past 30 days. This results in a monthly rolling average of around 12,000 transactions.
Comparison with Arbitrum
For comparison, Arbitrum, a competing modular blockchain, has been logging between 600,000 and 800,000 transactions per day over the past week, as stated by Arbiscan.
