PancakeSwap Launches Gaming Marketplace Targeting GameFi Sector

Decentralized exchange, PancakeSwap$3.46 -8.52%, unveiled its Gaming Marketplace this Wednesday. This revolutionary feature enables developers to design, release and update games directly on the platform. With this move, PancakeSwap is strategically positioning itself in the specialized gaming finance (GameFi) sector.

GameFi is a term that encompasses gaming applications that use tokens for fundraising and promoting growth. Renowned projects such as Axie Infinity have been some of the best performers regarding token price growth during the 2021 bull market.

Gaming Marketplace and its Published Games

The Gaming Marketplace currently hosts two games - the widely played "Pancake Protectors", created in collaboration with Mobox$0.310 -0.31% in May 2023, and the newly introduced "Pancake Mayor", a laid-back city-building game. The Pancake Protectors game has already piqued interest among gamers, attracting more than 25,000 players in a single day at its peak.

PancakeSwap's Interoperability across Multiple Blockchains

PancakeSwap operates on nine significant blockchains: BNB$312 -5.65% Chain, Ethereum$2,315 -2.42%, Aptos, Polygon$0.967 -3.65% zkEVM, zkSync Era, Arbitrum One, Linea, Base, and opBNB. This interoperability allows developers from any of these blockchains to build and release games on the marketplace.

PancakeSwap's CAKE Token Performance

Consequent to the launch of the Gaming Marketplace, PancakeSwap's native token, CAKE, experienced an increase of up to 5% in the last 24 hours. However, it later reversed these gains.
