HSBC, a renowned global bank, has offered insights into the fate of the U.S. dollar in the face of the emerging dominance of BRICS local currencies. The bank's most recent report details the U.S. dollar's potential performance in upcoming months against other local currencies, including those of the BRICS nations. According to HSBC, despite the competition, the U.S. dollar is predicted to stay robust in the foreseeable future and outperform major currencies.

U.S. Dollar Predicted to Outperform Euro and Pound Sterling

In their report, HSBC economists suggest that the U.S. dollar is likely to outperform the Euro and the Pound SterlingSterling. However, they also issue a warning that the U.S. dollar could underperform relative to the Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollar, and Australian Dollar. They clarify that while the U.S. dollar may not strengthen against most other currencies as it did during the Federal Reserve's rapid hiking cycle, it is yet to exhaust its potential.

HSBC Foresees More Upside to the U.S. Dollar

The report further states, We anticipate the USD to outperform the Euro (EUR) and the Pound Sterling (GBP), but to underperform against the Japanese Yen (JPY) and some commodity currencies, such as the Canadian Dollar (CAD) and the Australian Dollar (AUD). Ultimately, HSBC projects that the U.S. dollar will not succumb to the local currencies of BRICS nations. The USD continues to serve as the de facto global currency for all business undertakings, trade, and commerce worldwide.
