Enigma Securities Offers On-Chain Yield Via OpenTrade
Enigma$0.0036 -14.96% Securities, the digital asset brokerage division of Makor Securities in the U.K., has integrated with on-chain yield provider OpenTrade. The new collaboration aims to provide its product to investors across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. This development comes as the demand for Tokenized U.S. treasuries continues to surge.
Benefits to Institutional Clients
In a statement released on Wednesday, the companies stated that Enigma's institutional clients can utilize their cash resources to generate yield through OpenTrade's U.S. Treasury bill liquidity pool on the Ethereum$2,315 -2.42% network, with no extra onboarding required.
Philippe Kieffer, Enigma's Head of Business Development, commented on the growing interest in such services. With increasing interest rates, there has been considerable demand from our institutional clients for a product that allows them to leverage these high risk-adjusted returns, Kieffer stated.
He further added, We foresee the facilitation of hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of volumes through our new solution, based on this robust client demand.
Tokenization of Real-World Assets
The provision of this service comes at a time when the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) is becoming one of the most prominent trends in the crypto sector. This involves shifting traditional financial instruments, such as government securities, onto blockchain platforms. Many large banking institutions are currently exploring the potential of blockchain technology.
U.S. Treasuries are being increasingly used in tokenization efforts, growing from a $100 million market to an $850 million market in the span of a year. Franklin$0.0015 -3.24% Templeton, the asset management behemoth, is the largest player in this space, according to data from rwa.xyz.
OpenTrade's Tokenized Treasuries
OpenTrade launched its tokenized Treasuries liquidity pool in September, which was designed using Circle's on-chain credit facilitation service Perimeter Protocol, and is powered by USDC, the second-largest stablecoin.
