Crypto Influencer Ben Armstrong Ends Regular Livestream Amid Legal Troubles
Ben Armstrong, famed in the crypto world for his dynamic vlogs under the moniker Bitboy, has announced that he will no longer be hosting his regular livestreams. After three consecutive years, Armstrong has cited financial unsustainability and crippling legal fees as the main reasons for discontinuation. These livestreams, primarily focused on discussing emerging crypto trends, were costing upwards of $25,000 per week to produce, he disclosed.
Bitboy's Sudden Departure from Livestreaming
In a heartfelt video posted on his personal Youtube channel, Armstrong revealed that he faces a financial burden of approximately $100,000 monthly towards legal expenses. He expressed a sense of struggle, remarking that attorneys were mounting pressures from all sides.
The Rise and Fall of Bitboy
Armstrong, better recognized as Bitboy, has been a dynamic and energetic presence in the crypto world. Since 2018, he regularly published meticulously crafted videos offering price predictions and news with compelling headlines like Make IMPOSSIBLE Gains$0.159 -2.09% with Bitcoin$42,260 -0.64% SUPERCYCLE, attracting significant viewership.
His content, a combination of insightful advice and entertainment, resonated with a segment of the crypto trading public, leading to the creation of his own cryptocurrency-$BEN coin in mid-2023.
Legal Woes and Controversies
However, shortly after the launch of the $BEN coin, Armstrong was removed from the BitBoy world following serious and personal allegations, as reported by Decrypt. In response, Armstrong filed a lawsuit against the company owning the brand, marking the beginning of his current legal tribulations.
These issues further escalated as revelations of Armstrong's affair with the CEO of BEN Coin surfaced, leading to his arrest at a former business associate's residence-both events occurring during the same livestream.
