Shiba Inu's Meme Coin, SHIB, Emerges into Spotlight Once Again
The Shiba Inu$0.000010 -2.05%'s meme coin, frequently referred to as SHIB, has again become a focal point in the crypto community. According to the renowned digital currency tracking service, Whale Alert, there has been a significant transfer of 8.4 trillion SHIB, corresponding to nearly $100 million in traditional currency. This significant occurrence coincides with the Shibarium network reaching a significant utility milestone within a single day.
Whale Movements Influence the SHIB Market
Whale Alert, the blockchain tracking service, has tracked two substantial SHIB transactions involving unidentified wallets. In each transaction, a staggering 4,239,147,213,294 SHIB were transacted. Initial data from the IntoTheBlock analytics gatherer showed a 266% increase in whale activity over the last day. Further probing revealed that this spike was a result of the same quantity of SHIB being transferred twice. The funds were first moved to an anonymous wallet (-8b51b) and were later sent to another destination.
Impressive Progression of Shibarium
Simultaneously, the Shibarium network reported significant growth in its transaction tally, hitting 191 million. This brings to light the increased activity on the network. Moreover, daily transactions bounced back to 7.5 million, a substantial recovery from the previous week's low of 5 million transactions.
Eager Expectation for the Upgrade
In light of these events, the Shiba Inu community is keenly awaiting an important upgrade announced by the SHIB team earlier in December. The Shibarium testnet, dubbed Puppynet, is expected to migrate from Ethereum$2,315 -2.42%'s Goerli network to Sepolia, running on the second-largest blockchain. This transition is designed to improve Shibarium's scalability, decrease transaction costs and accelerate transfers. Lower transaction fees and quicker transfers will allow for larger burns. This strategy also depends on gas fees paid by Shibarium users in BONE tokens.
Automated SHIB Burns on the Horizon
With the much-anticipated upgrade slated for January, SHIB burns will transition from manual implementation by the SHIB development team to an automated system. This change follows the elimination of over 33 billion SHIB from circulation in November and December through four significant transactions. As the community welcomes these improvements, the Shibarium network is well-positioned for increased efficiency and scalability, reinforcing its standing in the dynamic world of cryptocurrency.
Anticipation and Growth for SHIB Continues
The recent transfer of 8.4 trillion SHIB coins and the impressive rise in the Shibarium network highlights the vibrant nature of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. As the community awaits the upcoming upgrade and the switch to automated SHIB burns, the future looks bright for SHIB enthusiasts and investors.
